About Organizer Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH
Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH was a major event organizer based in Hanover, Germany, specializing in trade shows and consumer exhibitions.
History and development
The company was established in 1928. It was renamed Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH in 1968. The following year, a branch office was opened in Bremen. Moreover, it was known for organizing several successful and traditional events, including the Kunst- und Antiquitätenmesse (Art and Antiques Fair), ABF (Leisure Fair), infa (Germany’s most successful shopping fair), and Pferd & Jagd (Northern Germany’s largest equestrian event).
After German reunification in 1989/90, Heckmann was involved in developing trade fairs such as the Building Trade Fair in Leipzig and the House, Garden, and Leisure Trade Fair. The company also developed the Altenpflege trade fair into a leading event for the elderly care industry.
Over the years, Fachausstellungen Heckmann has developed innovative and successful formats such as Sweet Infa, B.I.G. (a building and gardening trade fair), and Hund & Co. In 2020, Fachausstellungen Heckmann merged with its parent company, Deutsche Messe AG, which continues to operate its events.
Activities and specializations
Fachausstellungen Heckmann was known for organizing regional consumer fairs and special exhibitions. It operated in Hanover, Bremen, and Nuremberg, organizing events for various industries and sectors. In 1981, Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH became a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG. Since then, most of its events have been held at the Hannover Exhibition Center. Following the merger, Deutsche Messe AG continues to manage the legacy and events previously managed by Fachausstellungen Heckmann.
Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH played a vital role in the events and exhibitions industry in Germany and contributed significantly to the economic and cultural vitality of the region through its diverse range of trade fairs and consumer exhibitions.
