About Exhibition Center Karoonda Farm Fair
The Karoonda Farm Fair and Show is an annual two-day event showcasing local, state and interstate agricultural and general interest products, services and events. Located in Karoonda in the heart of the Murraylands region, the event has been running for over 35 years and welcomes over 7000 visitors through the gates each year. Visitors are welcomed from all over South Australia and beyond, making it one of the most popular field days and shows on the country’s calendar.
Our core purpose
To promote and showcase the Murraylands region, to encourage community spirit and pride and to support community organisations whilst providing a fundraising opportunity for the community.
Our history
The Karoonda Farm Fair began in 1985 as the Karoonda Sheep Fair and soon became a major event for the region, attracting large crowds each year. The event continued to grow each year, reaching a larger market and creating a wider general appeal. The fair has evolved and introduced a range of new offerings including agricultural based competitions such as shearing, wool handling, fleece and the South Australian Yard Dog trials.
In recent years the Fair has introduced a number of new competitions to develop the general interest aspect of the event, including photography, succulents and agricultural art. These competitions have become increasingly popular and have encouraged the introduction of new competitions in 2021, when the event will be formalised as the Karoonda Farm Fair and Show.
Our structure
The Karoonda Farm Fair and Show is a legal entity established in 1985. The Karoonda Farm Fair and Show has an ABN and is registered with the Australian Charities and Not -for – profits Commission (ACNC).
