About Exhibition Center Le Carreau du Temple
Le Carreau du Temple is a covered market in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, built in 1863. The building’s covered arcades were the site of a thriving second-hand clothing market in the 1950s. Le Carreau du Temple was restored by the city council in 2001 and reopened in 2014 as a multi-purpose centre for sports, culture and food. The venue is a gleaming new golden-brown 6,500 square metre space that hosts an eclectic programme of cultural and sporting events throughout the year, including live theatre, catwalk shows, sporting events, jazz festivals, vintage clothing fairs, food markets, film screenings, dance performances and conferences.
The Carreau du Temple also welcomes a new group of resident artists each year who create specially commissioned artistic projects for the benefit of visiting tourists, schools and business groups.
