History of the Palais des Congrès de Paris
The Palais des Congrès de Paris dates back to the early 1970s, when it was built on the site of the former Luna Park, next to the Concorde Lafayette hotel. Inaugurated on February 28, 1974, the complex was designed by architects Guillaume Gillet, Serge Maloletenkov, Yves Betin and Henri Guibout. A major extension was completed between 1997 and 1999, introducing an innovative sloping façade by architect Christian de Portzamparc, which today contributes to its unique and internationally recognized architectural form.
