About Exhibition Center Schlosspark
The Schlosspark is located below Bentheim Castle and is a twelve-hectare green area laid out in the style of princely gardens from the early eighteenth century. Its origins lie in the kitchen garden, herb garden, processional road, and woodland park.
In 1764 Ernst Hartwig Kumme, chief forester to His Royal Majesty of Great Britain and His Royal Serene Highness, made the first drawing of the estate woodland.
In 1973 and 1974, the park was re-landscaped according to the old plans: a lake, trees, and large grass areas were added. Even flowers and trees were given attention, as the upper part of the Schlosspark is a listed building.
The new fountain at Schlosspark has operated since the summer of 2022. During the spring and summer months, many animals can be seen here. The northwestern part of the park also has a lot to offer.
The children’s playground, water play area for the little ones, miniature golf course, and “senior citizens’ playground” are trendy. In winter, when the snow falls, the slopes of the Schlosspark offer the perfect opportunity for sledding.
Significant events will occur in this magnificent and large park: Art market, knight festival, garden days, flea market, and much more.
