STATION-Berlin is one of the most extraordinary venues in Europe. Thanks to its location in the heart of the capital, its excellent transport links, its size and facilities, and its architectural monuments, it is a national and international attraction for trade fairs and congress organizers, event management agencies, companies, and other organizations. Not only is it home to many well-known and popular events, but it is also an incubator for new and innovative concepts. Events that started or grew with the support of STATION-Berlin are now among the flagships of Berlin’s event calendar. Digital society, sustainable technologies, mobility 3.0, and contemporary art are just some of the topics regularly occurring in the halls, along with numerous business and industry events. Flexibility, short decision-making times, and a strong sense of service are why the number of recurring events and organizers is constantly growing.

STATION Berlin as a venue

Recently, it has been publicly stated that STATION-Berlin will soon close as an event venue. This is not true. STATION-Berlin will continue to operate as an outstanding event venue in its unique building complex at one of Berlin’s most interesting locations. History of STATION Berlin

The history of STATION-Berlin begins with the month in which the great German writer Thomas Mann was born. On June 17, 1875, Dresden Station was opened on this site – the starting and ending point of the new Berlin-Dresden-Berlin railway line, 12 kilometers shorter than the previous line. It carried trains to Dresden and on to Vienna and Prague. In 1907, under Kaiser Wilhelm II, the site was rededicated and served as a post office for the next 90 years, bringing parcels from all over the world and many other goods to Berlin. The station became especially important during the division of Germany, as it was the end of one of the most essential lines connecting West Berlin with the rest of Germany. Even today, many details remind us of Berlin’s eventful past. The large gates through which steam locomotives once passed, the recently renovated roof of Hall 7, and the markings on the walls, doors, and floors all bear witness to one of Germany’s most important hubs for goods and parcels. STATION-Berlin is still a hub today – a center for great ideas, products, and events.
