About Exhibition Center Messe Essen
Messe Essen is a major exhibition center in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Founded in 1913, it has a long history of organizing trade fairs and exhibitions. Messe Essen GmbH, the operating company, employs about 200 people and organizes about 55 different trade fairs, including ten leading international trade fairs and 12 satellite events abroad.
In the Rüttenscheid district near the Grugapark, Messe Essen is the ninth-largest exhibition center in Germany. The exhibition grounds cover a total area of 110,000 square meters with an additional 20,000 square meters of outdoor area. It also includes three convention centers with 28 rooms accommodating about a thousand visitors. One of the most notable structures within Messe Essen is Hall 3, known as the longest free-span hall in Europe, with a length of 230 meters, a width of 69 meters, and a height of about 15 meters.
Messe Essen is well connected by public transport, served by the Stadtbahn Essen at the stations Messe Ost/Gruga and Messe West/Süd/Gruga. It is also accessible via the A 52 and A 224 motorways, making it easy for visitors and exhibitors to reach the venue.
