About event
Around 2,000 exhibitors are expected at Fakuma – the International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing in Friedrichshafen. They give exhibition visitors a comprehensive overview of all plastics manufacturing technologies – from injection molding, in which Fakuma has a leading position worldwide, to extrusion, thermoforming and 3D printing technologies. In addition to current processes, technologies and tools for plastics recycling and recycling, issues of digitization, resource conservation and circular economy are also covered.
Fakuma occupies all available hall space in the modern exhibition center on Lake Constance. In 2018, 1,933 exhibitors from 40 countries and almost 48,000 visitors from 126 countries came to Lake Constance. The exhibition is highly respected in the industry. “For us, as traditionally the largest exhibitor and co-founder of the fair, Fakuma is very important. It is characterized by practical relevance combined with experience, a convenient location in the Germany-Austria-Switzerland border triangle and a family atmosphere. And this recipe for success still works very well,” confirms Dr. Christoph Schumacher, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at ARBURG GmbH + Co. KG.
Resource conservation, responsibility, recycling
This year’s Arburg exhibition focuses on the themes of digitization, resource conservation and the circular economy. The company wants to provide answers to important and pressing questions for the world of plastics recycling and use. “Always with the goal of increasing the production efficiency of our customers,” says Dr. Christoph Schumacher.
Sandra Füllsack, CEO of Motan Holding gmbh in Konstanz, will focus on the circular economy at this year’s Fakuma. “We will present new products as well as optimizations that contribute to increased energy efficiency and resource savings in the field of materials management.” Sandra Füllsack directly refers to the contribution that the industry can make to the sustainability mix: “Responsible use of plastic in product design starts and only stops when we close the loop at the end of the life cycle. The challenge for mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering is to enable the processing of recycled materials as well as new biodegradable or biodegradable materials while meeting high quality requirements for the final product. The solutions are varied and not only related to material or processing. In this way, digitization also contributes to recycling, for example by providing the final product with data on the material as it moves. It’s important that we look at the entire value chain in everything we do.”
High level of knowledge, direct practical relevance, useful benefits for visitors
At Fakuma, exhibitors and trade fair visitors can hold technical discussions and exchange ideas in a pleasant and inspiring environment. Dr. Christoph Schumacher emphasizes the great benefit of visitors: “Visitors to Fakuma benefit from their practical relevance. The focus is not on visionary concepts for the future, but on practical solutions that customers can use immediately to improve their production efficiency. Personal contact also plays an important role. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to view exhibits in person and discuss specific projects directly.”
Fakuma exhibition company PE Schall GmbH & Co. KG is the leading specialist event for injection molding. An internationally significant industry event will take place in Friedrichshafen.
