Ships used to be built here – today the old shipyard halls are Lübeck’s cultural venue. Whether it’s the ARD election arena, MTV unplugged, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the vintage car fair or hip music acts such as Wincent Weiss or Foreigner: they’ve all been here, most of them several times.
The Kulturwerft Gollan is not on the outskirts of the city, but just 200 metres as the crow flies from Lübeck’s old town island.
The ambience is unique, as the red brick halls built between 1870 and 1920 form the oldest industrial area in Schleswig-Holstein.
