The Florence Biennale is the premier exhibition of contemporary art in Florence (Italy), where it is considered an outstanding example of international contemporary artistic production. Every two years, the Biennale of Florence enlivens the Medici town with a program of accompanying events such as conferences, exhibitions, performances, master classes and lectures. All this with the aim of offering artists and their audiences the opportunity to interact with art and culture, and learn more about the theme of each edition of the biennale.

Since it was founded in Florence, the Biennale has been a free, independent, and innovative platform for contemporary art. Over the years, thousands of artists from more than a hundred countries have already exhibited their work at the Florence Biennale.

Each edition of the Florence Biennale features an international jury consisting of eminent scientists, art historians and critics from different countries. The Lorenzo il Magnifico Prize is given to the best artists at the exhibition.
