In the calendar of cultural events in South-Eastern Europe, the end of October has been central to the Belgrade Book Fair for many decades. This largest regional book event promotes literary creativity and education, cultural exchange with foreign countries and current literary and social issues.

The Book Fair, informally known as the Book Festival, annually hosts the most important local and many international writers and publishers who present their back titles and current productions.

An important feature of the book fair is the extensive program of side events. Through a variety of promotions, presentations, lectures, round tables and public discussions, members present to professional and general audiences many topics important to literature, publishing and culture.
