Historical Facts
In late 1905, a group of Masons from York and Scottish Rite sought to establish a Shriners temple in Ashland, Kentucky, as the nearest temples were in Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Charleston, and Chattanooga. After gathering 83 signatures, their petition was approved, and on March 3, 1906, El Hasa Shrine Temple was officially chartered. The first meeting under this name took place on March 24, 1906.
