Historical Background
Built in 1942, Kato Ballroom has become an iconic location in Mankato. Over the decades, it has hosted legendary performances from renowned artists such as Buddy Holly, Glenn Miller, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Louis Armstrong, and The Beach Boys. In the 1980s, the venue welcomed President Ronald Reagan, and in 2019, it hosted the inauguration of Governor Tim Walz.
