Altman Building is proud to celebrate over twenty years of providing events at our historic site. Founded in 1896 as the carriage house of the B. Altman department store, the Altman Building is now a flexible private event space spanning 14,000 square feet over two floors. Our site entrance is at ground level and virtually column-free, providing unprecedented event flexibility.


Our original mahogany French doors connect directly to the street to allow for seamless level loading land and welcome visitors and visitors to a vast part of New York’s history. The Altman Building is an elegant, memorable and exciting venue for your next event, with custom hardwood floors, vaulted brick ceilings and multiple windows creating an endless cascade of natural light.
