Skelton Show 2025 in Skelton, Great Britain

The Skelton Show has been running since the late 1800s and has grown from a small local show held in the village to become one of Cumbria’s premier agricultural shows. The exhibition is currently held on the first Saturday in July at the picturesque Old Park in Hutton Forest near Penrith

The show features a large horticultural and industrial tent, as well as classes for cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, antique cars, furs and birds, as well as Cumberland and Westmoreland wrestling. With over 150 trade stands, a gift and craft stall, a Skelton Food Hall, a wide range of entertainment, music, food and bar, it has a reputation for being a great day out in the country for all the family.

It is run by a committee of volunteers and aims to promote the interests of those involved in gardening, farming and farming by providing opportunities for competition, information sharing and best practice. Each year, a new president is elected to serve as Chairman for a four-year term.

Timetables containing detailed information for a wide variety of classes are released in late April and entries must be made by mid-June. Tenders for fast food and ice cream are sought every December, and applications for exhibitor slots can be submitted from January.

We hold a Farmers’ Ball in the first week of October and our all-invitation meeting is held in January. The committee meets throughout the year in Toppin Skelton Memorial Hall.
