About Exhibition Center Salzburg Messezentrum
Salzburg Messezentrum is an exhibition centre in Salzburg, the capital of the Austrian state of Salzburg, in the district of Liefering. Adjacent to the Messezentrum Salzburg is the Salzburgarena, a multi-functional event hall that is part of the centre.
The history
Today’s Messezentrum Salzburg GmbH was founded in 1973 as “Salzburger Ausstellungs Zentrum Ges.mbH” by the City of Salzburg, the Province of Salzburg and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 1969, a new permanent site was needed for the Salzburger Dult public festival. The city council chose a site in the district of Liefering. The first three halls were used for a trade fair in 1974. A fourth hall was built in 1974 and two more halls were opened in 1976. Today there are 15 multi-purpose halls.Facts and figures
