About event
"Candles and Christmas magic" is the motto of this year's Christmas Market Baddeckenstedt 2023 at Schloss Oelber in Baddeckenstedt in Lower Saxony. On the castle grounds near Salzgitterdrijk, not only will more than 100 exhibitors beckon visitors this year, but there will also be many special attractions.
For more than 25 years, Rittergut Schloss Oelber has opened its doors for the first time at the Christmas market. Following its premiere in 1995, it quickly became clear that this historic site, first recorded in 1226, offered the perfect setting for all things wonderful in Advent and the Christmas season.
At the largest indoor Christmas market, Christmas Market Baddeckenstedt 2023, in the region, more than 2,000 square meters of area will be transformed into a world of the senses. In the former stables, at the stud farm, as well as in the restaurant in the old forge or in the café in the hunting barn, you are invited to taste, dine and admire.
The wide range of festively decorated stands range from Christmas decor to folk art and Erzgebirge wooden furniture to cashmere and silk and home accessories. The Madison Skiffle Company, Christmas Circus, accordion music, choirs from the region and a lantern parade with St. Nicholas provide atmospheric entertainment. Services are held on Saturday in the charming castle church of St. Annen.
Winter treats range from game delicacies, tarte flambé, Burgundy roasts and Asian delicacies to wines and pies from France and lard pie.
