History of InterContinental Berlin

Initially built in 1958 by renowned architects William Pereira and Charles Luckman, the hotel reopened in 1978 as the InterContinental Berlin and, with its famous checkerboard facade, remains one of the most iconic and internationally renowned hotels in the German capital. Over the decades, the building has undergone extensive expansion and renovation to ensure that this landmark hotel is as relevant today as it was in 1958.
