About Exhibition Center The International Centre
TheInternationalCentreis a multi-purpose conference center in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Located approximately 3 kilometers from Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Opened in 1972, the exhibition center has nearly doubled its original 24,000 sq. m, after a large-scale expansion and reconstruction in 2002. Currently, the center has more than 50,900 sq. m of total area of exhibition and conference halls, as well as approximately 93,000 sq. m, which includes exhibition, conference rooms, office and retail space.
The International Center is closely connected with the aviation history of Canada. In the 1950s, the International Center site was home to Orenda Engines Limited, which was used to develop the jet engine for the Avro Arrow fighter aircraft. The site was purchased by a group of private investors from DeHavilland in 1971, leading to the development of its current use as a primary mixed-use facility.
