About event
The International Berlin Beer Festival, held annually on the first weekend in August, is a significant event attracting worldwide beer enthusiasts to Berlin, Germany.
The festival takes place in Berlin, primarily along Karl-Marx-Allee, a prominent boulevard in the city. The event is usually held on the first weekend of August each year.
Guinness World Records recognized the festival as the “longest beer garden in the world.” It welcomes approximately 800,000 guests annually and features over 1,800 types of beer from about 80 countries and more than 240 different breweries.
The Beer Mile
A major attraction of the festival is the “Beer Mile,” a 2.2 km stretch near Alexanderplatz, where German and international breweries present their products. Up to 350 breweries from 90 countries are known to participate, offering 2,400 beers.
The festival isn’t just about beer; there’s plenty of entertainment. There are up to 18 stages of live music, including rock, folk, country and pop, as well as comedy stages. Historic brewery vehicles also parade down Festival Street throughout the weekend. All of this entertainment is free.
Each of the festival’s 20 or so beer regions focuses on beer and the food and culture of their respective areas. This provides a comprehensive experience of both beverage and culinary delights from different parts of the world.
