The IRC is the most important scientific and practical congress on rapeseed, held every four years. Coordinated by the International Rapeseed Research Advisory Group (GCIRC), it is carried out in different regions of the world on a rotating basis. For nearly five decades, the IRC has provided a forum for experts in science, breeding, agronomic practices, plant protection, animal and human nutrition, economics and policy.

Accordingly, the Berlin Congress will also deal with the entire spectrum of rapeseed cultivation and use. Along with the plenary keynote lectures, parallel sessions and seminars will be devoted to special topics, including specific aspects of production technology (agriculture and plant cultivation, crop protection, agricultural engineering) and breeding. Topics related to product use include animal and human nutrition, biofuels and renewable feedstocks, economics, developing new markets and competition with other plants and products, and innovative applications for oil- or meal-based (protein) canola products.
