The Leipzig Book Fair (German: Leipziger Buchmesse) is the second largest book fair in Germany after the Frankfurt Book Fair. The exhibition takes place annually over four days at the Leipzig Trade Fairground in the northern part of the city of Leipzig, Saxony. It is the first major trade meeting of the year and as such plays an important role in the market and is often where new publications are presented for the first time.

The spring book and media industry event showcases new publications, publishing programs, authors and trends. Readers, authors and publishers will appear at the book fair and Europe’s largest reading festival “Leipzig liest” (Leipzig reads) to learn, share and discover. The Leipzig Book Fair provides a platform for business contacts and also offers reading promotion and professional development services for teachers and educators.
