This event showcases products such as a three-day celebration of the music, dance, history, crafts and food that make Florida unique, from Irish fiddle tunes and kumquat pie to a wide variety of music, the state’s cultural heritage reflects the lives of generations of Florida families, over the weekend. 300 performances give voice to and give meaning to Florida’s heritage.

The Florida Department of State’s Folklife Program explores a special topic on Florida’s traditional heritage, performances and demonstrations highlighting the diverse life traditions of Miami-Dade County. Opportunity to visit the Folklife District to experience compelling traditions and enjoy the tastes, sights and sounds of some of the oldest and newest cultural communities Florida. During jam sessions, demonstrations and workshops, you can try your hand at playing the mandolin, telling stories or making a pine needle basket, shopping tour and visiting traditional and contemporary Florida artisans, followed by a lunch of greens and cornbread, chicken pilaf and john, shrimp jung, barbecue, curry, gyros, limes and much more.
